How can we offer such affordable rates?

OpalFone buys wholesale national/mobile/international minutes and resell at a much cheaper rate than the standard Telecommunications providers.

What are the requirements to use the OpalFone service?

  • Any phone connected to a Telecommunications provider (ie. Telecom/TelstraClear)
  • Payments are to be made by Direct Debit arrangement only

We have a PABX, what are our options?

If you have a PABX you have two options:

  • Direct Exchange Redirection - we can modify which toll provider you use at the exchange level, so whenever you make a toll call, you’ll automatically use the OpalFone network.
  • Least Cost Routing (LCR) - once your account has been activated you programme a four digit prefix which enables access to the OpalFone network. i.e. 0523 for national calls, and 0526 for international calls. Have your PABX technician call us if you need assistance.

How are the call charges calculated?

We calculate the call charge based on a minimum charge of one minute (60 seconds), then pro rata per second thereafter. ie. after the first 60 seconds you will pay only 1/60th of the charge each second thereafter (60+1)

How will I be invoiced?

To keep our costs low we will email your invoice at the beginning of each month within the first 5 business days. This will be emailed to the address (or billing email address) you supplied when you filled out the sign-up form. You can change this address at any time in the Manage Account section of the Billing website (http://www.opalfone.co.nz/billing/).

How can I view my call history?

To view a detailed history of all calls made please login to the Online Billing facility and click on Search for Calls - which can be found at http://www.opalfone.co.nz/billing/

How long will my invoices be available online?

Your invoices will remain online for 3 months and then are archived.
